How board members help MECSR
The board is where the council's work gets done. In return for the platform, members give their time and energy to:
- ✓Attend and steer board meetings, reporting, and decisions.
- ✓Promote MECSR membership across the MENA region.
- ✓Coordinate local networking so members stay connected.
- ✓Serve every member fairly and impartially.
- ✓Champion events, education, and the industry's growth.
How to become a board member
Board membership follows the criteria in the MECSR By-Laws. Three things must be met.
Active MECSR member
Candidates must hold an active membership in good standing.
Nominated by two members
Two current MECSR members must endorse and sign the nomination.
Elected by the members
Directors are elected by vote, with seats going to the highest votes.
Election timeline
The election runs in four phases.
Nominations
Submit your nomination and gather endorsements.
Deliberation & validation
The elections team reviews and validates the nominations.
Online & proxy voting
Members vote online or by proxy to elect the board.
Results & AGM
Results announced at the Annual General Meeting.
Term of office is two years, with a maximum of four consecutive years, then a two-year gap before standing again.
